Instrumental Remover

Drop a song for the instrumentalor click to browse · MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC · free up to 2 minutes · 3 splits a day per IP · paid files up to 10 minutes and 50 MB

Free: up to 2 minutes, 3 splits a day per IP. The first successful split today includes both downloads. Uploaded files and results are available for approximately one hour. Processing an expired file again is a new job and uses minutes again.

Only upload audio you own or have permission to process. Temporary files are deleted after about 1 hour.

An instrumental remover takes a finished song and gives you the music without the lead vocal, plus the vocal stem from the same pass.

How it works

1

Upload the song

Choose an MP3, WAV, M4A, or AAC file you are allowed to process. A free file is up to 2 minutes and 50 MB. Each IP can run 3 splits a day.

2

Separate the mix

Demucs htdemucs estimates the lead voice and the rest of the arrangement, then writes two files that share the original timing.

Preview, then download

Play either stem from any point. Starting or seeking one player moves the other to the same position, so you can compare them. The first successful free split of the day includes both downloads.

What you get

Instrumental

The music bed: drums, bass, guitars, keys, and effects in one MP3. This is the file you keep when the voice is in the way.

Vocals

The voice-focused MP3 from the same split. Reverb and a little accompaniment can remain, because the source is a stereo master, not the studio session.

Both files are MP3s from one separation, at the same encode. A free download is that MP3, not a second, quieter copy. Turning it into WAV afterward does not put back detail the split never captured.

Use cases

Karaoke

Sing over the instrumental while the original timing stays put. The vocal stem is there if you need to check a phrase, then mute it. This page does not print lyrics or change the key.

Remix

Mute the vocal stem and rebuild around the instrumental, or keep the voice and change the bed underneath. The two files start together, so a DAW can line them up with a click. Clear the recording before you release anything.

Practice

Loop a chorus and play or sing along without the lead voice covering the part you are learning. Seek to the bar you want. The instrumental and the vocal stem stay on the same position while you compare them.

Podcast and video beds

Lower the original vocal under narration, or replace it with your own voice while the music continues. Use a short section you have rights to. The result is two MP3s, not a scored video.

Free vs Credits

A free instrumental remover job accepts a file up to 2 minutes and 50 MB. Each IP can run 3 splits a day. The first successful split that day includes both downloads. A later free split can unlock both files with Credits without running the separation again. A file longer than 2 minutes, up to 10 minutes and 50 MB, needs Credits before the split starts. One credit is one billed minute: the length in seconds divided by 60, then rounded up. The packs are Starter $4.90 / 20 min, Plus $9.90 / 50 min, and Pro $19.00 / 120 min.

If these rules change, the /credits page is the one that applies.

How this differs from the other tools

The vocal remover is the whole-song split when you want the voice taken down across the mix. This page is the instrumental-first view of that separation: the music bed is the file you came for.

The vocal isolator is the opposite priority. Open it when you want the voice by itself. Here the instrumental is the point, and the vocal stem is the reference next to it.

Run it from the tool on the homepage, or read the two-file explanation on the stem splitter.

FAQ

What is an instrumental?

An instrumental is the music bed of a song after the lead voice is pulled out. Drums, bass, guitars, keys, and effects stay together in that one file. It is not a separate track for each instrument.

How is an instrumental different from an acapella?

The instrumental is the accompaniment. An acapella is the vocal stem: the voice-focused file from the same split. You get both. Mute the vocal stem when you want only the music.

Can I use an instrumental commercially?

No license comes with the file. You can publish or sell a result only when you already have rights to the recording and the composition. A private practice take is not the same as a public upload or a client job.

Which formats does this instrumental remover accept?

Upload MP3, WAV, M4A, or AAC, up to 50 MB. A finished split returns two MP3s, one instrumental and one vocal stem, at the same encode. Converting that MP3 to WAV later does not restore detail the separation never had.

How long can the file be?

A free file can be up to 2 minutes. Each IP can run 3 splits a day. A longer file, up to 10 minutes and 50 MB, needs Credits before the split starts. The upload is not trimmed in silence.
