About this vocal remover

Get Vocal Remover is an independent website for one job: split a short song into a vocal stem and an instrumental stem. The same split powers the vocal remover, the stem splitter, the vocal isolator, and the karaoke maker. Those pages are different explanations of two files, not four different models.

Who operates it

The site is operated under the name Get Vocal Remover. A separate registered company is not published here, so this page does not invent one. Questions about the service, a file, or Credits go to hi@getvocalremover.com.

Model and stack

Separation uses the Demucs htdemucs model, run through Replicate. The default Replicate model slug is cjwbw/demucs. A deployment may pin REPLICATE_MODEL_VERSION; this page does not publish a hash, because that pin can change without a copy edit. The website itself is a Next.js app on Vercel. The browser uploads the file to temporary Vercel Blob storage, the model runs on Replicate, and the page previews the two stems. Processing is not on-device, and it is not a no-upload tool.

htdemucs can estimate more than a singer, but this product only downloads two stems: vocals, and one instrumental. Drums, bass, guitar, and piano stay inside that instrumental. There is no voice cloning, no lyric video, and no key change.

How long files stay

Uploads and generated stems are scheduled to delete after about 1 hour. The default retention is 3600 seconds. That is short-lived storage, not a promise that audio never touches a disk. Download what you need before the job expires. There is no account library. The request IP is used to enforce the free allowance: 3 splits a day, files up to 2 minutes and 50 MB.

Copyright

The tool does not grant a license to the recording, the composition, or the performance. Removing a vocal, or keeping an instrumental, does not make a copyrighted song yours.
